Gressoney Valley

The sporty side of Monte Rosa

At the foot of the imposing Monte Rosa, Gressoney-La-Trinité is a station of international reputation with a long alpine tradition. Gressoney-Saint-Jean, hardly 5 km below Gressoney-La-Trinité, is a characteristic Walser architecture village. It is the heart of Monte Rosa skiing with its 180 km of trails distributed over 3 Alpine valleys and offering a great variety of outdoor activities for the summer season.

Staffal is the gateway to the exciting off-trail routes and ski touring on the snows of Monte Rosa, to the 4,459 meters Punta Gnifetti and Capanna Margherita, the highest shelter in Europe.

Only here

  • The Walser tradition and architecture is recognizable in typical customs and architecture;
  • Three valleys linked by skiing: Val Sesia in Piedmont, Gressoney Valley and Ayas Valley;
  • Freeride: the cableway of Indren offers fans a true paradise at high altitudes, where the downhill trails are virtually infinite between glaciers, valleys and forests;
  • Castel Savoia, the summer residence of Queen Margherita of Savoy, to visit or organize a convention or dinner.
